The opportunities to explore and play are limitless. Waskesiu has something for everyone including quiet hikes in the Northern Boreal Forest, adventures on the lake enjoying your favourite water sports, a day on one of Saskatchewan’s premier golf courses, good times on the beach, and the glow of an evening lake sunset. Visit during our winter season to experience cross country and snowshoe trails in the Prince Albert National Park.

Our Favourite Local Activities
The Grey Owl Center, located in downtown Waskesiu, is famous for the bright yellow “Little Deuce Coupe” quadra cycle. You can rent bicycles for all ages, bicycles built for two, off-road bikes; everything you need for a fun ride including helmets. Also for rent are outdoor adventure equipment like canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and peddle boats, AND they offer on-site wireless hotspot and internet stations.
Visit the Waskesiu Marina and choose from boating, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, windsurfing, kiteboarding, waterskiing, wakeboarding, and even paddle boarding! They offer pontoon boat interpretive tours and sunset cruises. Bringing your own boat? Moorage spots are available on site.
The Waskesiu Golf Course is one of the oldest golf courses in Western Canada. Visit their pristine grounds for a game or stop by their Clubhouse and Pro Shop to take in the sights. Designed by the legendary Stanley Thompson and built in the 1930s, it incorporates all of the classic Thompson trademarks the foremost of which is the use of the natural landscape. Stanley Thompson is regarded as one of the greatest course designers to have ever lived.
